McGuire Organics …

Hi, welcome to McGuire Organics. My name Stephen McGuire you can call me Steve for short. I am from the Brockton, Massachusetts about 20 miles south of Boston. With my wife and 2 children.

I am a classically trained chef from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. I have worked at the Ritz Carlton in Boston, MA, The Four Seasons in Palm Beach, FL, and Spargo in Maui, HI.

When my son was born we found out that he was allergic to a number of things. So I decided to start to grow my own about page imagefood in the backyard.

I did some research on how to make my own compost. When doing so I read an article about Vermicomposting (a.k.a. composting with worms). I decided to get a pound of worms and see how it was.

I found out that Vermicompost is a more superior compost with more nutrients and microbes in it than a backyard compost has in it.

My number one goal of McGuire Organics is to show you how easy and simple it is to grow your own food. That it can be fun and be educating for the young ones.

And that you can make your own fertilizer from your own household garbage like paper, cardboard, and produce scraps.

My personal belief is that if you “give a man a fish you could feed him for a day, but if you teach him how to fish you feed him for a lifetime”
A garden is an investment but one of the best things is after the garden is built and after your first harvest you will be able to harvest your seeds and continue to grow and eat for free.

So if you are interested in learning how the get a worm bin set up go here.

I hope you come for the journey of McGuire Organics with me and start growing your own food.
